Performer, writer, director and producer
I trained as an actor and a journalist.
In May 2018 I performed in a and produced Shirleymander by Gregory Evans at The Playground Theatre in London W10. It was directed by Anthony Biggs and starred the marvellous Jessica Martin. I played three parts A Tory matron form the 1980s, A judge and a strange male doctor - versatility right there.
Next up I am producing The Paradise Circus by James Purdy. It will be on at The Playground Theatre form th October to 3rd November.
Me: I went to Birmingham University for my first degree then Drama Studio London for a post graduate diploma and then an MA in Theatre at Goldsmiths. I was very lucky to be in the National Youth Theatre when Michael Cropft the founder was still running in in the early 1980s. I am the chair of Borealis Theatre Company which produces premieres of European plays in the UK and I am also an acting member of the wonderful tower Theatre Company. Voila enough.
I love a play, I love being in them, writing them, producing them and Directing when asked. I adore a theatre and I also really enjoy helping others with their performances. as a side notE i am also very happy making props. I recently painted an "oil" painting for Bronte and made masks for Kinderstransport.

Presentation Skills
For ten years I have worked as a presentation skills coach, helping comediens, musicians, music industry execs and management consultants learn how to take the stage and enjoy talking to an audience.
How to write
A great performance relies on a well written script. You can't perform something that is rubbish. Before you start to look at presenting your ideas you have to ensure you have a good easy to understand - jargon free - script. Know who your audience is tailor your piece to them.
Never say to much - no one is listening. Give the absolutely most important facts.
nerves
Nerves are the curse of performers. I have several useful tips that will help get rid of nerves; from physical tricks, to mental attitude - you will never feel anxious gain. In fact you will look forward to being on stage and your presentations will be entertaining and informative.
Non-verbal communication is vital - you can say an awful lot without opening your mouth. What are you wearing, posture, are you gripping the lecture, clenching your hands?
love your audience
You can only be a successful performer if you know and love your audience. Who are they? How can you make them feel comfortable. You hold all the cards. They have to sit still and listen - you can do what you like - look after them and give them a great show.
Audiences are like mirrors - you have to give them what you want back. It is easy to manipulate an audience once you have the tools. You need to know as much about them as possible.
